About Me
Hello,
Welcome to fourth grade! I am Ms Richards, the loud teacher, who loves to have fun and learn new things as we go on this adventure of fourth grade together. I have been teaching here at Glencoe for thirteen years, starting in the Special Education Department, then moving to third and fourth grade. This will be my third year teaching fourth grade at Glencoe. Besides teaching at Glencoe, I’ve taught in two private language immersion schools as the English teacher, in Special Education for the ESD and at two charter schools. I’ve loved learning and teaching in all these different settings.
I am a Native Oregonian; I was born in Oregon City and grew up in Estacada, a small logging town about 45 minutes outside of Portland. Most of my family still lives in Estacada, so I am out there often visiting.
Besides teaching I love to travel (although I haven’t done enough), read, swim, ride my bike (especially with my dog Zelda) and dance. I love ballroom dancing, but square dancing is what I do the most. I square dance at different levels at least twice a week and travel around the country every year to attend our annual square dance convention.
If you have any questions or comments you can reach me at [email protected]. If you might want to spend a little time together before school starts I often invite students and parents in to help with setting up the classroom the week before school begins. So if this sounds interesting to you, send me an email in August letting me know if you might want to come in.
I cannot wait to meet you and start a wonderful new year of learning together, but for now enjoy your summer break.
See you soon,
Ms Richards
